The U.S. House of Representatives could consider a motion to revive the Export-Import Bank of the United States in votes today and tomorrow.
Some “free market” advocates oppose the Ex-I’m, but it is hard to see why an entity that helps even our smallest businesses compete in foreign markets would somehow not be supporting a free and equal market.
Ex-Im is critically important to Missouri manufacturers wanting to sell their products outside the U.S. The Bank has helped our businesses compete with businesses from other countries that have the support of similar entities in their home countries. American businesses, especially small businesses, have been at a disadvantage with businesses in other countries since the Ex-I’m charter expired this summer.
